Course overview
Social work asks a great deal of its practitioners, and this course introduces the values, ethics and core methods that guide professional practice, including client assessment, case planning and case management. You will look at how to work respectfully and effectively with vulnerable groups, including children, the elderly, people living with disability and families in crisis.
The course also covers referral pathways to other services, basic safeguarding principles, and the record keeping standards expected of a social work professional. It suits social welfare officers, community development workers, NGO caseworkers and anyone supporting vulnerable populations as part of their role.
