Requirements
A basic understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) principles.
Prior experience in workplace safety, risk management, or compliance (recommended but not mandatory).
Suitable for safety officers, HR personnel, managers, and professionals in high-risk industries.
Minimum of a high school diploma (Grade 12 certificate).
Work experience in an industrial, mining, construction, or corporate environment is beneficial.
Outcomes
Demonstrate a deep understanding of Zambian OHS laws and regulations, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act (2010) and the Factories Act.
Identify and classify different types of workplace hazards (physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, and psychosocial).
Understand the roles of regulatory bodies such as the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, ZEMA, and WCFCB.
Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments using industry-standard methods (HIRA, JHA, HAZOP).
Apply the Hierarchy of Controls (Elimination, Substitution, Engineering, Administrative, and PPE) to mitigate risks.
